What is hummus? Hummus is delicious, that’s what it is. Who would have thought that mashed up chickpeas, little bit of lemon juice, and maybe some garlic could be such an exquisite meal. If you can’t already tell, I’m a big fan of the hummus spread.
Although I really enjoy just about any spicy hummus dip, my favorite would have to be roasted garlic hummus dip. This specific hummus spread incorporates pretty much all of my favorite things. It’s also a relatively easy hummus recipe to make and impress your friends with. First of all let me state that hummus is actually a pretty healthy dish and roasted garlic hummus is no exception. Although there are such things as hummus calories, they are pretty good calories in the grand scheme of things. The chickpeas provide a great sources of protein.
Ok, on to my roasted garlic hummus dip recipe! When all is said and done this should take you about 20 minutes total. Ingredients include 1 can of chickpeas, 2 tablespoons of garlic, and 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice. I also like to add a bit of olive oil to taste to the final product. Your choice entirely. Now, put all of your ingredients into a food processor and process until you reach your desired consistency. Some people like their roasted garlic hummus dip very smooth. Personally, I like mine a bit more textured. To each his own – the flavor remains the same.
